Nabarangpur: A Smriti Ceremony in memory of the late Sanyukta Tripathy was organized at the Sarojini Kalyan Mandap in Nabarangpur city under the patronage of the Seemant Sahitya Parivar. The event was chaired by Ashok Kumar Patnaik, President of the organization, and coincided with the celebration of the Odia New Year. During this occasion, a tribute was paid to Sanyukta Tripathy, a prominent poet, with the publication of her book “Bhakti Rasamrit Sindhu.” The program was attended by several distinguished guests, including Nabarangpur MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi, senior social worker Narayan Patra, senior lawyer Jhadeshwar Khadanga, and Deputy District Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra.
The ceremony began with the lighting of a lamp at the statue of Lord Jagannath, followed by a rendition of the song “Bande Utkal Janani” by students from Vidyarthi Vigyan Mahavidyalaya. During the event, the Seemant Sahitya Parivar also unveiled the special issue of ‘Srijan Seemant’ for 2025, dedicated to Sanyukta Tripathy. Her book was formally presented to the guests and the public by her elder brother Kedar Tripathy.
The ceremony also honored eminent individuals, including Narayan Patra for his contributions to society, and Narasingh Tripathy, a noted actor and director, who was awarded the ‘Seemant Samman 2025’ for his contribution to traditional theatre. The Smriti Award in memory of Sanyukta Tripathy was presented to distinguished individuals, including musicologist Madan Mohan Mishra and teacher and literary figure Dr. Pradeep Kumar Mishra.
In addition, winners of previous competitions were awarded, and notable figures such as Venkata Reddy, Suresh Kumar Mishra, Dilip Kumar Panigrahi, Munna Tripathy, Dr. Raghunath Satapathy, Y. Prabhakar Patra, Ramakrishna Patra, Ramesh Prasad Patra, Ratikanth Raghurama, and Smriti Panda were recognized for their contributions. The ceremony was coordinated by Dr. Sanyukta Panda.
At the end of the event, local artists performed a musical program featuring the compositions of Sanyukta Tripathy.
