Netanga Celebrates Ram Lalla’s Wedding Festival with Grand Procession

Belaguntha: On the auspicious occasion of Baishakh Pratipada last Sunday, the wedding festival of Lord Shri Ram and Goddess Sita was celebrated with great devotion at the premises of Shri Shri Raghunath Swami Temple, established by the royal lineage of Bije Bhanja, in Netanga village under Belaguntha block.

At 10:45 PM, the idol of Lord Ram was ceremoniously brought out from the inner sanctum. The village reverberated with vibrant cultural performances including Bagha Nacha, Pata Akhada, Dhol, Changu, Ghanta, Mridanga, Shankha, Turi, Kahali, and Kathi Nacha as the Lord was taken on a grand procession around the village.

In the presence of thousands of devotees, the Bata Barana Utsav (welcoming of the groom) was performed at 12:25 AM. Following that, at 12:40 AM, the deity proceeded to the wedding altar (Bibaha Bedi).

With the wholehearted support of villagers from Netanga, Kural Sahi, and Ranpur, as well as active participation from the local youth, the divine wedding ceremony was concluded in an atmosphere of great joy and devotion.
