K. Nuagaon : In K. Nuagaon block of Kandhamal district, Hanuman Jayanti—the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman, the ardent devotee of Lord Rama—was celebrated along with Maha Bishuba Pana Sankranti across the surrounding areas.

Devotees gathered at temples such as Hanuman Mandir, Harihara Mandir, Rameswar Mandir, and Pattakhanda Mandir to perform traditional rituals including worship, fire sacrifices (homayajna), and recitation of 108 Hanuman Chalisa verses. Copies of the Hanuman Chalisa were also distributed by various individuals.

After offering pana (a traditional sweet drink) to the deity, the temple management committees distributed it among the devotees. Midday annaprasad (sacred food) was also served.

On this occasion, people welcomed the Odia New Year (Pana Sankranti) at all Danda Agana (ritual grounds). In the temples, the new Panji (Hindu almanac) was worshipped and read aloud, officially marking the beginning of the new almanac year.

The rituals were conducted by priests Rabindra Satapathy and Sridhar Tripathy. The event was organized under the supervision of Hanuman Temple Committee President Krushna Mohan Panigrahi, Secretary Kali Prasad Tripathy, and Treasurer Prabhat Kumar Panigrahi. Other notable contributors included senior member Shyamghana Sahu, Pandit Kumar Bishimaji, Bijay Kumar Sahu, Sukanta Kumar Mahapatra, Sakrajit Beshoyi, Krushna Chandra Samanu, Ramchandra Padhi, Sushil Kumar Patra, Pindu Pradhan, Kalia Patra, and Bhagirath Nath, who all supported the successful execution of the program.
