Brahmapur: The death anniversary of Pandit Gopabandhu Das, fondly known as Utkalmani (Gem of Odisha), a great freedom fighter and a pioneer in the formation of a separate Utkal province, was observed by the Ganjam District Backward Class Development Forum, Shaunḍhik Samaj, and Pujya Puja Committee.

Floral tributes were offered at his statue located at Giriraj Road Square, and his legacy was fondly remembered. Various members paid homage by singing his praises and highlighting his contributions.
