Fit at Any Age: Women’s Wellness Unlocked

Dr. Smrithi D Nayak, Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynaecology

In today’s world, women have more control than ever over their health and well-being. With advances in medicine, nutrition, and fitness, age is truly just a number. Women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond are staying active, feeling vibrant, and living healthier lives. The key lies in adopting the right habits and maintaining a positive mindset.

Prioritize Regular Exercise

Staying active is one of the best ways to maintain health and vitality. Exercise improves heart health, strengthens bones, and keeps muscles toned. Women should focus on a mix of:

  • Cardio workouts like walking, jogging, cycling, or swimming to keep the heart strong.
  • Strength training to maintain muscle mass and bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
  • Flexibility and balance exercises such as yoga or Pilates to enhance mobility and prevent falls.
  • Just 30 minutes of movement daily can make a significant difference in long-term health.

Follow a Nutritious Diet

What women eat plays a crucial role in how they feel as they age. A balanced diet should include:

  • Lean proteins (chicken, fish, beans, tofu) to maintain muscle strength.
  • Healthy fats (avocados, nuts, olive oil) for brain function and heart health.
  • Plenty of fiber from fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to aid digestion.
  • Calcium and vitamin D to support strong bones and prevent osteoporosis.
  • Limiting processed foods, refined sugars, and excessive alcohol can also help maintain energy levels and prevent chronic illnesses.

Take Care of Hormonal Health

Hormonal balance is essential for overall well-being. As women age, estrogen levels decline, which can affect mood, metabolism, and bone health. Consulting a gynecologist or fertility specialist can help manage hormonal changes through:

  • Lifestyle adjustments
  • Natural supplements
  • Hormone replacement therapy (if necessary)

Prioritize Mental and Emotional Well-Being

Staying healthy is not just about physical fitness—it’s also about mental and emotional balance. Stress, anxiety, and lack of sleep can accelerate aging. To maintain well-being:

  • Practice mindfulness and meditation to reduce stress.
  • Engage in hobbies and activities that bring joy.
  • Build strong social connections to stay emotionally fulfilled.
  • Ensure quality sleep (7-9 hours per night) for proper body recovery.

Stay on Top of Health Screenings

Preventive care is crucial for long-term health. Regular check-ups and screenings help detect potential health issues early. Women should prioritize:

  • Annual gynecological exams with PAP smear and USG scan.
  • Mammograms (as per age and risk factors)
  • Bone density tests
  • Heart health check-ups (cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes screening)

Aging is a natural process, but how women age is in their control. By staying active, eating well, managing stress, and prioritizing health check-ups, women can feel younger, stronger, and more vibrant at any age. It’s never too late to invest in self-care—because age truly is just a number!

Ageless Power: The Woman’s Path to Strength

Ms. Palak Dengla, Chief Physiotherapist, Aster RV Hospital

Priya, a 45-year-old marketing manager, rushing between a client presentation and her daughter’s school play, grabbing a protein shake in one hand and answering work emails with the other. Sounds familiar? Welcome to the world of modern women – part superhero, part stand-up comedian, entirely unstoppable.

The Comedy of Multitasking

Let’s be honest – if multitasking were an Olympic sport, women would sweep gold, silver, and bronze. Remember that time you were cooking dinner, helping your kids with homework, taking a work call, and somehow still managed to find your husband’s lost car keys? That’s not magic – that’s just Tuesday for most women.

A Day in the Life

Sarah, a 52-year-old entrepreneur, jokes that her body might be aging, but her spirit is stuck at 25. “Hormones might be playing musical chairs in my body,” she laughs, “but I’m the conductor of this orchestra!”

The Biological Superpower

Our bodies are not a limitation – they’re a marvel of engineering. Hormonal changes? More like hormonal adventures! Perimenopause isn’t a roadblock; it’s a scenic route with unexpected turns. Those hot flashes? Think of them as your body’s personal central heating system with a sense of humour.

Real-World Wellness Hacks

  1. The Multitasking Workout
    • Squats while brushing teeth
    • Calf raises while waiting for the microwave
    • Pilates during conference calls (mute button is your friend!)
  2. Nutrition: Not a Diet, A Lifestyle
    • Smoothies that hide vegetables like a ninja
    • Meal prep that saves time and sanity
    • Proteins: Your muscle’s best friend! Aim for 1.2-1.6g per kg of body weight (your personal repair and rebuild squad!)
    • Water: Your liquid gold! Aim for 2-3 liters daily (your body’s internal car wash and energy booster!)

Inspirational Indian Women Who Laugh in the Face of Age

  • Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw: Built a biopharma empire, proving business has no age limit
  • Indra Nooyi: Transformed PepsiCo while redefining corporate leadership
  • Sudha Murty: Author, philanthropist, who shows wisdom grows, not ages

The Pelvic Floor: Your Secret Superhero Muscle

Think of your pelvic floor like a trampoline – resilient, flexible, and crucial. After childbirth, it might feel more like a worn-out elastic band, but with the right exercises, it can bounce back better than ever!

Motherhood: The Ultimate Marathon

Motherhood is not a job – it’s an extreme sport with no training manual. You’re a part nurse, part chef, part therapist, part WWE wrestler (ever tried dressing a toddler?).

Mental Wellness: Keeping Your Cool

Stress management tips:

  • Deep breathing (or screaming into a pillow, no judgment)
  • Meditation (or hiding in the bathroom for 5 minutes of peace)
  • Laughter – seriously, it’s the best medicine

Three Non-Negotiable Health Commandments

  1. Move It or Lose It Your body is not a museum piece. Dance in the kitchen, do yoga during TV commercials, chase your kids/dogs around the park.
  2. Nutrition is Self-Love Eat like you love yourself. Nourish, don’t punish. Sometimes that means a salad, sometimes that means a small chocolate cake.
  3. Rest is Not Lazy, It’s Strategic Sleep is your secret weapon. It’s not a luxury; it’s maintenance for your incredible machine of a body.

The Ultimate Truth

Age is just a number, but attitude? That’s everything. You’re not getting older; you’re getting more extraordinary.

To every woman reading this: You’re not just surviving. You’re absolutely, magnificently thriving. Keep laughing, keep moving, keep conquering!

Here’s to us – complex, powerful, hilarious, and unstoppable Women!

MaxIQ Appoints Sastry Malladi as CTO to Strengthen Leadership

New Delhi, India/San Ramon, California – March 31, 2025 – MaxIQ, the AI-powered Revenue Platform for B2B SaaS enterprises backed by Dell Technologies Capital and Intel Capital today announced the appointment of Sastry Malladi as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). A veteran technology leader with more than three decades of experience, Sastry will lead MaxIQ’s product and engineering organization as it scales its Revenue AI platform that empowers go-to-market teams to drive predictable growth and maximize customer lifetime value.

Sastry will work alongside Matt Hickey, CEO, and Sonny Aulakh, Founder, to bring MaxIQ’s bold vision to life: helping enterprises close the gap between sales execution and customer value realization.

Sastry Malladi shared his insights into the appointment, saying, “I’m thrilled to join the leadership team at MaxIQ during this pivotal growth phase. Today’s revenue teams are operating in silos — disconnected tools for sales and success lead to inaccurate forecasts, missed handoffs, and lost opportunities. With Revenue AI, we have the chance to change the game. I’m excited to build the platform that brings it all together.”

Sastry brings a wealth of experience to MaxIQ, especially his experience of management through co-founding multiple startups, including FogHorn Systems, which achieved a successful exit and was a pioneer in Edge AI. He has also had significant experience in technology leadership roles at eBay and Oracle, building scalable, global platforms. Furthermore, Sastry holds deep expertise in AI, enterprise software, and leading globally distributed engineering teams.

As CTO, Sastry will lead the expansion of MaxIQ’s Agentic AI capabilities — purpose-built to support sales forecasting, customer onboarding, product adoption, and revenue expansion in a single platform. His leadership will accelerate the company’s R&D roadmap and global team expansion following MaxIQ’s recent $7.8 million seed round led by Dell Technologies Capital, with participation from Intel Capital.

Matt Hickey, CEO of MaxIQ, welcomed the appointment of the CTO, saying, “Sastry’s track record of technical excellence and entrepreneurial success speaks for itself. He’s the right leader to help us scale the next-generation platform that today’s GTM teams have been waiting for.”

MaxIQ continues to see strong momentum as more B2B SaaS companies seek to align sales, customer success, and RevOps under one intelligent platform — from deal qualification to onboarding, usage, expansion, and renewal.
