HK Desk 4th February 2025 A new organization, the District Citizens’ Committee, has been formed in Nabarangpur district to address issues related to education, healthcare, and basic infrastructure.
During the meeting, several officials and dignitaries participated, including Additional SP Batakrishna Mishra, Additional District Medical and Public Health Officer Malay Kumar Tripathi, Municipality Chairman Kunu Nayak, Executive Officer of the Municipality Samaresh Mohanty, District Social Security Officer Sudhanshu Patra, and committee advisor and former minister Jamburudhar Majhi. Also present were former Deputy Municipal Chairman Subash Chandra Sura, educationists Dr. Bijay Kumar Mishra and Niranjan Mishra, who shared their views on resolving various district issues.
The meeting was presided over by committee chairman Jagannath Mahapatra, while Secretary Ram Prasad Patra, Advocates Rabindra Prasad Padha and Samaresh Gantayat presented their ideas for the district’s overall development. Advocate Kishori Pattnaik moderated the event, and Sparshalata Pattnaik delivered the vote of thanks.
The advisory board includes former minister Jamburu Majhi, former MLA Sadan Nayal, Rajya Sabha MP Mujibulla Khan, former Deputy Municipal Chairman Subash Chandra Sura, and senior advocate Jhadeshwar Khadanga.

- Joint Secretary: Kishore Pattnaik
- Treasurer: Srinivas Patra
- Co-convener: Pradeep Kumar Sahu
- Executive Members: Sparshalata Pattnaik, Barun Nayak, and Jagannath Baghe.
The committee aims to work towards the district’s collective development by addressing key public concerns.
