HK Desk 4th February 2025 Accidents are increasing at the bypass road intersection near the Circuit House in Nabarangpur, where the national highway connects to the inner city. As a result, the District Bar Association has demanded road widening at this intersection.
The State Vice President of the Association, Narasingha Nath Tripathi, along with District Bar Association Secretary Tapan Singh and Treasurer Anil Dinabandhu, discussed the issue with RTO Jitendra Bhoi. Advocate Tripathi stated that the bypass road, which connects to the national highway from the opposite direction, is extremely narrow. Additionally, a tree near the intersection and the highway’s metal barriers are causing obstructions.
On the other hand, vehicles coming from the bypass face difficulty in spotting traffic on both sides of the national highway. Despite repeated demands for road widening, no action has been taken. There are concerns that a major accident could occur if preventive measures are not implemented. The national highway authorities have been urged to take immediate steps in this regard.
Similarly, frequent accidents are also occurring at the Medical and Rural Development Office Square. There, too, road widening has been demanded. Furthermore, calls have been made to deploy traffic police at various intersections in the city. The RTO has assured that the matter will be brought to the attention of the national highway authorities.
