Bhubaneswar, June 5: A significant meeting of the Odisha State Cabinet is scheduled to be held on June 3. As the BJP government in the state is set to complete two years in office on June 12, the state government has planned various celebratory programs to mark the occasion.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to participate in the celebrations organized by the state government. Therefore, the government is planning to announce several major benefits and development initiatives for the people of the state through the Prime Minister during the anniversary celebrations.
Big schemes may receive cabinet approval
Several major proposals are likely to receive approval during the cabinet meeting. Preparations are also underway for the foundation-laying ceremonies of various projects by the Prime Minister.
With Panchayat and municipal elections expected early next year, the state government may announce significant benefits for both rural and urban residents. It is reported that the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, as well as the Housing and Urban Development Department, have submitted multiple proposals to the state government for consideration.
Apart from these, proposals from several other departments may also receive cabinet approval, including:
Commerce and Transport
Culture
Tourism
Mission Shakti
Water Resources
Agriculture
Works Department
Revenue Department
Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste Development Department
Similarly, between June 12 and June 22, both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister are expected to separately inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various projects.

Housing and Urban Development
Home Department
Commerce and Transport

For this purpose, the concerned departments are sending lists of projects to the Chief Minister’s Office.
