Thousands Attend Balda Nageshwari Hill Jatra, Celebrating Tradition and Devotion

Nandpur A hill Jatra to Nageshwari Hill and the monastery in the Balda Panchayat tourist spot of Nandpur Block was held on Friday. More than 5,000 people from Nandpur Block and neighboring areas gathered peacefully. The event was coordinated by the Nandpur sub-division Padua Police, Balda forest area workers, health workers from Nandpur health center, Nandpur fire brigade workers, and the Puja Committee members. The Puja at the monastery was performed by the priests from Soput and Chilam villages. Thousands of devotees visited Nageshwari Maa, offering clothes, flags, bangles, and food offerings to the goddess.

For safety reasons, entry to the pond atop the hill was restricted, and volunteers, police, forest workers, and fire brigade personnel ensured no one could enter the area. The devotees who had previously visited gathered in large numbers for the darshan of Maa Nageshwari.

MP Jayaram Pangi, all the village leaders, the Balda forest area officer Badal Mahanti, and Balda forest guard Surendra Gauda cooperated in organizing the event.
