Teachers Directed to Remain in School Premises Till 10:30 AM

Bhubaneswar: In all schools of Khordha district, teachers will now stay from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Previously, teachers were instructed to remain at school until 12:30 PM by the District Education Officer (DEO). However, in response to opposition from teachers requesting a reduction in working hours, the DEO has now shortened their duty time.

Considering the intense summer heat, the state government had already started morning school sessions. Accordingly, the School and Mass Education Department had set school timings from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

Although the Khordha DEO had earlier instructed teachers to stay until 12:30 PM for official duties even after students left at 10:30 AM, teachers opposed this due to the scorching heat. In light of this, the DEO has now issued letters to all government, government-aided schools, and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas confirming the revised working hours for teachers till 10:30 AM.
