Rabi Narayan Naik Visits Nabarangpur District, Lays Foundation Stones and Inaugurates Multiple Development Projects

Nabarangpur, May 13:: The Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, Ravi Narayan Naik, visited Lamtaguda in Tentulikhunti Block of Nabarangpur district and inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development projects under the Chief Minister’s Road Scheme, Bridge Construction Scheme, Drinking Water Supply Projects, and the “Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha” programme.
The Minister inaugurated a mega rural drinking water supply project for 22 Gram Panchayats under Tentulikhunti and Nandahandi Panchayat Samitis at an estimated cost of rs149.39 crore. Through this project, drinking water will be supplied to 38,609 families across 100 villages.
On the occasion, foundation stones were laid for 31 roads and 4 bridges to be constructed by the District Rural Development Department (Division I & II) at an estimated cost of rs267.27 crore. Similarly, under the Panchayati Raj Department’s “Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha” scheme, foundation stones were laid for 718 projects with an estimated expenditure of rs29.11 crore.
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Raighar Panchayat Samiti, foundation stones were also laid for two rural drinking water supply projects at Chhatabeda and Deobharandi villages at an estimated cost of rs7.53 crore.
Among those present on the dais were Lok Sabha MP Balabhadra Majhi, Nabarangpur MLA and District Planning Board Chairman Gouri Shankar Majhi, Jharigaon MLA Narsingha Tara, District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain, Special Development Council Chairperson Basanti Majhi, Vice-Chairperson Lingaraj Bhatra, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Tentulikhunti Block Chairman Niladri Nayak, Vice-Chairman Rajendra Bishoyi, and Engineer-in-Chief of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, Randhakar Sial.
Before attending the public meeting at Lamtaguda, the Minister first laid the foundation stone for a road under the Chief Minister’s Road Scheme from Koiguda near DIET through Bania, Chiliguda, and Maliguda at an estimated cost of ₹20.72 crore.
At Lamtaguda, he inaugurated a Panchayat Assistance and Banking Service Centre constructed at a cost of rs10 lakh within the Gram Panchayat office premises. At Photaguda, he laid the foundation stone for a road from Photaguda to Panasaduka to be constructed by the Rural Development Department at an estimated cost of rs37 crore. He also visited the Deopali Dam.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Ravi Narayan Naik highlighted the government’s initiatives for infrastructure development in the district, including drinking water supply, transportation, Antyodaya housing schemes, construction of a new medical college, railway connectivity, tourism development, stadium construction in every block, and healthcare services through Ayushman cards. He stated that the State Government is continuously striving to develop the district as a model district.
Lok Sabha MP Balabhadra Majhi and the MLAs, in their speeches, emphasized the district’s development and improvements in various sectors, along with public participation in the developmental process.
District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain welcomed all the guests. During the programme, beneficiaries of the Antyodaya Housing Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana were provided incentive assistance by the chief guest.
The event was attended by officials from various departments, public representatives, representatives of MPs and MLAs, media personnel, and staff members of the Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water, Rural Development, and Sanitation departments, who assisted in the smooth conduct of the programme.
