Papadahandi, Oct 6 [UDN}:Senior educationist and former headmaster of Kukudabai and Maidalpur High Schools, as well as a former teacher of Lal Bahadur High School in Papadahandi, Durga Charan Das, passed away at the age of 76.

Das was known for his philanthropic activities and social service. He also served as an adviser to the Senior Citizens’ Association of Papadahandi and was respected in the area for his contribution to education and community welfare.

According to family members, Das had dinner at his residence on Monday night and went to sleep as usual. However, he did not wake up the following morning. His younger son, Ramprasad, popularly known as Dipu, who lived nearby, went to wake him and found that he had already passed away. He subsequently informed other members of the family.

His death has been mourned by former students, fellow teachers, senior citizens and residents of Papadahandi, who remembered him for his long association with education and his service to society.
