Nabarangpur Pays Tribute on Dr. Sadashiva Tripathy’s Birth Anniversary

Nabarangpur  The birth anniversary of renowned freedom fighter and former Chief Minister Dr. Sadashiva Tripathy was commemorated at the Nabarangpur Municipality Conference Hall at 8:30 AM with floral tributes, rituals, a remembrance meeting, and award distribution.

The event began earlier in the day at 8:00 AM with a garlanding and prayer ceremony at the statue of Dr. Tripathy located at Sadashiva Park. Distinguished guests, including Rajya Sabha MP Mujibulla Khan, Nabarangpur MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi, Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapal Kumar Khuntia, Municipality Chairperson Kunu Nayak, and Dr. Tripathy’s family members—Kedarnath Tripathy, Mula Tripathy, Jagannath Mahapatra, Vijay Mishra, Radhanath Behera, Bijaya Choudhury, Sangeeta Tripathy, Prabhati Tripathy, and Tikima Tripathy—offered tributes.

Students and teachers from the local Municipal High School, college lecturers, intellectuals, poets, writers, media personnel, and departmental officers also paid floral homage.

During the remembrance meeting at the Municipality Conference Hall, Rajya Sabha MP Mujibulla Khan and MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi praised Dr. Sadashiva Tripathy as a great freedom fighter, a popular leader, a symbol of idealism, integrity, and harmony, a learned scholar, and a successful implementer of land reform laws. They urged everyone to embody his ideals and vision.

Chief speaker Vijay Mishra elaborated on Dr. Tripathy’s life philosophy, freedom struggle, and notable achievements during his tenure as Chief Minister.

Other honored guests, including Kedarnath Tripathy, Mula Tripathy, Kunu Nayak, and Tapal Khuntia, shared insights on his patriotism, role in the independence movement, time spent in prison, reforms in land and revenue laws, dedicated public service, and lasting popularity.

Poet Jemamani recited a poem dedicated to Dr. Tripathy.

On this occasion, winners of school-level oratory and quiz competitions were awarded certificates and prizes by the dignitaries.
