Umarkote, May 21: In the women’s football tournament being held in Bhubaneswar under the aegis of the Odisha Football Association, the Nabarangpur district team secured a massive win in the inaugural match by defeating the Ganjam district team by a record margin of 25 goals, informed team coach Sapan Bairagi.
For Nabarangpur, Sonali Biswas scored 5 goals, while Disa Hira and Yajnasini Behera netted 4 goals each. Smita Behera scored 3 goals. Anjulata Khara and Rajanti Barsha Panda scored 2 goals each. Banti Gand, Gansai Gand, Gayatri Sahu, Surama Malik, and Rinki Puhan scored one goal each.
Congratulating the team on its success and first victory, Odisha Cabinet Minister Nityananda Gond extended his best wishes and hoped the team would continue to deliver excellent performances in the upcoming matches.
