Nabarangpur: The district-level celebration of Maharaja Krushnachandra Gajapati Narayan Deb’s birthday was organized by the District Information and Public Relations Department at the local Cultural Bhavan. On this occasion, the Additional District Collector (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia graced the event as the chief guest. Among other guests were literary figures Vijay Choudhury, writer Narayan Panda, District Culture Officer Ghasiya Harijan, and District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Behera. The main guest, Additional District Collector, highlighted the significant contributions of Maharaja Krushnachandra Gajapati in the formation of the separate Utkal state, education, language, arts, irrigation, agriculture, literature, and culture. He also spoke about his efforts to support poor and meritorious students.
At the event, speakers reminisced about Maharaja’s role in the formation of Utkal Sammilani, his contributions in various sectors, including girls’ education, abandoning royal luxury for public service, his political background, and his work as the first Chief Minister of Utkal. The gathering discussed the various aspects of his life and his immense contribution towards the state’s progress.
The event also witnessed speeches from Monorama Majhi, Prabhasini Mahanti, Swarlnalata Pattnaik, Jagadish Chandra Tripathy, Yahubhi Panda, and others. The gathering also saw the presence of other dignitaries such as Purnachandra Mahapatra, Avani Ranjan Tripathy, P. Rabikant Raghurama, Rampasad Patra, and Devadas Mahakud.
