HK Desk 5th February 2025 The 45th Annual Function was celebrated at Kotpad College with grandeur. The event was graced by the Honorable Minister of School and Mass Education, Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, and Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe Welfare, Shri Nityananda Gond, as the Chief Guest. He highly appreciated the contributions of Kotpad College in the field of education.
Honorable MLA Shri Rupu Bhatara, who attended as a distinguished guest, highlighted the role of students in education. Other notable guests included the representative of Nabarangpur MP, Rameshwar Jena, and keynote speaker Pradeepta Kumar Bhat, who praised the organization of the annual function and described the college’s contributions as remarkable.
The event was presided over by the Principal of the college, Dr. Sheshananda Mishra, while Hemanta Dalai and Smita Bishoi anchored the stage proceedings. The program commenced with the inauguration of a newly constructed additional classroom by Minister Shri Nityananda Gond and MLA Rupu Bhatara. The event began with floral tributes and prayers to Lord Jagannath.
Dr. Akash Pati, an English department faculty member, presented the annual report. The guests were warmly welcomed with flower bouquets and mementos. During the event, Minister Shri Nityananda Gond respectfully greeted Dr. Sheshananda Mishra by touching his feet, symbolizing the deep bond between teacher and student.
In his speech, Minister Shri Nityananda Gond announced a grant of ₹1 crore for the beautification of Kotpad College. Additionally, the MLA assured the installation of a borewell for drinking water and the construction of a permanent stage for cultural programs within the college premises.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by faculty member Hemanta Dalai. The entire faculty, staff, and students contributed to the successful organization of the function. After the formal meeting, cultural programs such as Sambalpuri folk dance, patriotic performances, and other traditional dances were presented. Winners of various competitions held at the college were felicitated by the esteemed guests.
