Jeypore: The Jeypore Municipality has initiated an awareness campaign to protect city residents from the spread of diarrhea. Jeypore Sub-Collector Akbaram Sasya Reddy has advised citizens to avoid consuming stale food, wash hands thoroughly before eating and after using the toilet, always use boiled water, avoid dipping hands into water containers, use ladles to draw water, and maintain cleanliness around their homes and surroundings.
Awareness vehicles are touring the city to spread these messages among residents. As diarrhea infections are currently on the rise across the state, and several people have already lost their lives, the government is taking the situation seriously, especially during the rainy season when the risk of infection increases.
The state government has also issued instructions to departmental officials to ensure clean drinking water and proper sanitation of drains. People are advised that if anyone shows symptoms of diarrhea, they should be taken to a medical facility immediately.
