Jeypore: To mark the completion of one year of the state government’s term, a week-long district-level development fair was organized at the local police parade ground. The event featured various cultural programs held daily.
On the inaugural day, MLA Raghuram Machh formally inaugurated the event. On the 16th, state government representative Mallik joined as the chief guest. The entire event was conducted under the direct supervision of District Collector V. Kirvee Vasan.
Among other dignitaries present were Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhattarai, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sasmita Meleka, Pension Grievance Director and Odisha General Administration Secretary Nihar Ranjan Das, Koraput SP Rohit Verma, Additional District Collectors Tapan Kumar Nayak and Dweep Prasad Mohanty, Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister Gokulananda, Koraput Block Chairperson Namita Majhi, Koraput Municipal Council Chairman Lalat Ranjan Sethi, Sunabeda Municipality Chairman Rajendra Patra, Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Benudhar Sabar, District Planning and Monitoring Deputy Director Suryakanta Behera, Koraput Municipal Executive Officer Jnanajit Tripathy, Koraput BDO Debashis Gouda, and ORMAS Executive Officer Rosan Karshik.
ORMAS had set up 70 stalls, through which business transactions worth ₹97 lakhs were recorded. The fair significantly benefitted self-help groups (SHGs) and farmer producer organizations (FPOs) from across Koraput district.
Additionally, a Subhadra Traditional Food Fair was organized, where a variety of traditional Odia dishes were exhibited and sold.
As the event coincided with Raja, Odisha’s popular festival, fairgoers enjoyed swings, games, and various cultural performances.
This development fair, held to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the state government, has been widely discussed as an innovative and noteworthy initiative.
