Kotpad 25th January 2025 Himachal Pradesh Foundation Day, also known as “Himachal Day,” is celebrated on January 25th each year to mark the formation of the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. On this day in 1971, the state was officially created by the merger of 11 princely states and territories, under the leadership of its first Chief Minister, Shanta Kumar.
The state was originally part of the Punjab region but was later separated following the reorganization of states in 1966, leading to the creation of Himachal Pradesh as a full-fledged state. The day is celebrated with various cultural events, parades, and public gatherings, showcasing the rich heritage, traditions, and achievements of Himachal Pradesh.
Himachal Pradesh is known for its picturesque landscapes, including the Himalayan mountains, and for being a major tourist destination. The day serves as a reminder of the state’s development and its contributions to the country’s growth. It is also an opportunity to honor the people of the state for their resilience, unity, and commitment to progress.
