Grand Celebration of Madhu Jayanti Observed in Daspalla with Religious Programs and Community Participation

Daspalla, May 06: The 179th birth anniversary of Madhusudan Das was celebrated across the state, including Daspalla.
Born on April 28, 1848, at Satyabhamapur, Madhusudan Das was a pioneering figure in the Odia language movement. Before his demise on February 4, 1934, at Cuttack, he played a key role in shaping Odisha’s identity. With his efforts, the Utkal Sammilani was established in 1903.
He received education from Ravenshaw Collegiate School, Ravenshaw College, and Calcutta Law College, and became Odisha’s first graduate and first barrister. He was also a renowned writer, poet, and freedom fighter.
On this occasion, members of the Utkal Sammilani Daspalla branch paid floral tributes and discussed his life and contributions. The program was attended by President Dr. Baidyanath Sahu, Secretary Hadibandhu Mahakud, along with Manas Ranjan Sahu, Prafulla Kumar Mishra, Prafulla Kumar Das, Alok Senapati, and others.
Similarly, Madhu Jayanti was also celebrated at Bachpan Play School in Amalapada, where teachers and children participated and remembered the legacy of Madhusudan Das.
