Nabarangpur: A district-level Right to Information (RTI) Act training workshop was conducted at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall, organized by the district administration and the Information & Public Relations Department.
District Information & Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Behera welcomed all participants and provided a comprehensive understanding of the Right to Information Act, 2005.
Additional District Magistrates (Revenue) Bishwajit Barman and (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia attended the event and educated all Public Information Officers (PIOs) about the RTI Act, emphasizing the process of receiving applications, providing information, and adhering to the stipulated timelines.
State Government-appointed Master Trainer Rashmi Ranjan Raut conducted a special training session for all First Appellate Authorities (FAAs) and PIOs on the RTI Act.
A key focus of the training was on the mandatory disclosure of 17 manuals under Section 4(1)(b) of the RTI Act, which will be available in both Odia and English on the online portal by March 31, 2025.
The Master Trainer provided detailed training on topics including the RTI Act, proactive disclosure of information, citizens’ right to information, response timelines, RTI Central Information Commission (RTI-CIC) regulations, registers, and information request fees.
The workshop saw the presence of Additional Executive Officer Jadumani Nayak, heads of various departments, block and tehsil officers, ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) officials, and PIOs from BEO (Block Education Office) and other government offices.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the District Information & Public Relations Officer.
