Nabarangpur: A three-day cricket coaching camp for players in Nabarangpur district has commenced at the stadium under the joint initiative of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and Nabarangpur Cricket Association. The camp was formally inaugurated by District Cricket Association Secretary Prahlad Tripathi, who expressed that this training would be highly beneficial for local players.
Senior and former players have described the camp as a moment of pride and joy for the sports community. Several key personalities, including Odisha Cricket Academy’s Technical Director Sri V. Venkataraman, Coach Saurabh Sehgal, Coach Pritamjit Majit Das, and Manager Abhilash Harichandan, participated in the camp, imparting various cricketing skills and training to the players.
Around 100 players from different regions of the district have joined the skill development training camp. Considering the summer heat, the sessions are conducted in two slots: morning from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM and afternoon from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Prominent attendees included Nabarangpur District Cricket Association President Debashis Pattnaik, Vice President Shubhendu Behera, Joint Secretary M. Bal Krishna Rao, and members Ashok Nayak, Shashank Behera, Lambodar Soura, Durjaya Harijan, and Women’s Cricket Team representatives Ajita Das and Bikram Das.
After two days of training, a cricket match will be conducted among the participants to assess their skill development, as informed by District Cricket Association Media Coordinator Manoj Kumar Pattnaik.
