Nabarangpur A Construction Workers’ Welfare Ceremony was organized at Shree Kalyan Mandap in Rangamatiguda, Nabarangpur. Honorable Nabarangpur MLA Shri Gauri Shankar Majhi attended as the chief guest and distributed financial assistance to beneficiary construction workers.
In his speech, Shri Majhi informed workers about the various assistance programs and registration procedures provided by the Odisha Government for construction workers. District Labour Officer Chhotaray Tudu explained how workers could register online and access different welfare benefits. For construction worker registration, the District Labour Officer and Assistant Labour Officer have been designated as registration officers.
During the camp, financial aid was distributed among the workers:
- Education Assistance: 5 beneficiaries
- Marriage Assistance: 5 beneficiaries
- Maternity Assistance: 3 beneficiaries
- Death and Funeral Assistance: 6 beneficiaries
A total of 19 beneficiaries received ₹16,62,000 in assistance, handed over through cheques by Shri Majhi. Additionally, 1,998 new construction workers were issued identity cards.
Through online transactions, financial assistance was transferred to beneficiaries as follows:
- Marriage Assistance: 93 beneficiaries received ₹46,50,000
- Maternity Assistance: 57 beneficiaries received ₹5,70,000
- Education Assistance: 30 beneficiaries received ₹2,97,000
- Death Assistance: 39 beneficiaries received ₹82,00,000
- Funeral Assistance: 38 beneficiaries received ₹1,90,000
In total, ₹1,39,07,000 was transferred to 257 beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
The event was attended by MP representative Janaki Bisoi, Labour Commissioner Prabha Gaya, Kuber Behera, District Labour Officer Chhotaray Tudu, DIPRO Manoj Kumar Behera, Kunj Bihari Das, trade union leaders, labour office staff, media representatives, and over 300 construction workers.
