Bhubaneswar, Sept 28 [UDN}:The Odisha School and Mass Education Minister has directed Block Education Officers (BEOs) to ensure the timely payment of electricity bills of schools following reports of power connections being disconnected at several educational institutions.
The Minister said departmental authorities have been instructed to take immediate steps to restore electricity supply to schools where connections have been disconnected due to unpaid bills.
According to the Minister, electricity supply has already been restored to some schools, while necessary directions have been issued to ensure that power connections in the remaining affected schools are restored without delay.
The Minister further stated that BEOs have been specifically instructed to clear the pending electricity bills and ensure that schools do not face disruption in power supply. The move comes amid concerns over the impact of electricity disconnections on regular teaching and learning activities in schools.
