Anasara Darshan Draws 25,000 Devotees to Shri Alarnath Peetha

Brahmagiri: Today marks the 9th day of the Anasara Darshan at Shri Alarnath Peetha. Despite the intense heat, devotees were seen lining up in an orderly manner for darshan. Though the crowd was comparatively lower than previous days, around 25,000 devotees had darshan today. So far, daily visitor counts have peaked at around 40,000.

As per tradition, the temple gates opened at 4:00 a.m., followed by Mangala Arati, Avakash, Mailama, Anasara Besha, and Chandan Tulasi rituals. After completing the morning rituals, public darshan began. Post the morning Dhoopa (incense offering), during the midday offering, various items like rice, khichdi, kanika, dalma, besara, greens, and kheer were offered to the deity. The temple closed for Pahada (rest) at around 2:30 p.m. and reopened briefly at 2:45 p.m. for Chiha Pahada Darshan (afternoon rest darshan). The final ritual of the day, the Badasinghara Besha and Pahada, was completed around midnight.

Special Kheer Offering for Officials

During the Anasara period, thousands of devotees visit the Peetha daily, and the Ananda Bazaar (temple food court) remains crowded, especially after the midday offering. The kheer served here is known for its unique taste. Sources reveal that the Alarnath Temple Management Committee prepares high-quality kheer, spending thousands of rupees to offer it specifically to senior officials across various departments. However, questions are being raised about the exact amount of money spent each year for this premium offering.

Vishwashanti Mahayajna Begins

During the Anasara period, the Alarnath Temple Committee conducts the Vishwashanti Mahayajna (Great Sacrifice for World Peace) for global welfare every year. Today, the Ankuraropan ritual (sowing of sacred seeds) was performed in the yagna hall by Vedic scholars. According to temple officials, from Saturday onward, offerings will be made as part of the Mahayajna, which will continue for five days.
