After 75 Years, Electricity Finally Lights Up the Village

Nabarangpur: The residents of Jharanaguda village under Amulabhata Gram Panchayat, Tentulikhunti Panchayat Samiti, in Nabarangpur district, had been living without electricity for 75 years since India’s independence. Fifteen families in Jharanaguda village had been deprived of electricity and had to rely on traditional oil lamps for lighting. Due to the lack of a proper road to the village, electricity connection could not be established.

The villagers raised their demand with Nabarangpur MLA Gaurishankar Majhi regarding this issue. The MLA personally visited the village, crossing a risky wooden bridge on a motorcycle, to assess the situation. With the assistance of the electricity department, arrangements were made to supply electricity to Jharanaguda from the nearby Pariguda village.

Once the electricity connection work was completed, power was finally supplied to the village. The inauguration event was attended by MLA Gaurishankar Majhi, Executive Engineer Sushant Kumar Khatei, Junior Engineer Bharat Tanti, and the villagers.
