Puri, July 6 {UDN}: To ensure smooth travel and convenience for devotees during the Rath Yatra festivities, the Odisha government has announced several special measures.
No toll fee will be collected at the Pipili Toll Gate on the days of Rath Yatra, Gundicha Yatra, and Suna Besha for all vehicles.
The decision has been taken by the Transport Commissioner to facilitate hassle-free movement of pilgrims.
Around 400 electric vehicles (EVs) will provide free shuttle services between designated parking areas and the Bada Danda (Grand Road).
The EVs will transport devotees from parking locations to the Grand Road and back.
Free meals will be provided to passengers at the Puri Bus Stand.
Electric vehicle services will also be available between the Bus Stand and the Shree Jagannath Temple.
Arrangements have been made for the operation of 1,000 buses from within Odisha and neighbouring states to accommodate the expected influx of devotees.
These initiatives are aimed at ensuring a safe, convenient, and comfortable pilgrimage experience during the world-famous Rath Yatra celebrations in Puri.
