Jeypore,May 06:: The Jeypore Gau Suraksha Bahini has launched a campaign in the town focusing on the protection and respect of cows.
On this occasion, a massive rally was taken out from the premises of Raghunath Temple and proceeded to the Tahasildar’s office. There, a memorandum was submitted through Tahasildar Sabyasachi Jena addressed to the Hon’ble President, Prime Minister, Governor, and Chief Minister.
The main objective of the “Gau Samman” campaign is to appeal to the Central and State Governments to ensure the protection, service, and dignity of cows in line with Indian culture and constitutional provisions through non-violent means. The memorandum also includes demands such as proper research and financial support for cow welfare, complete prohibition of cow slaughter in India, and granting cows the status of “Rashtramata” (national mother) with fundamental rights and recognition as a national heritage.
A large number of members of the Gau Suraksha Bahini and supporters participated in the rally and submission of the memorandum.
