Papadahandi One person died and another was critically injured in a bike accident near Charamula bridge under Maidalpur police station in Papadahandi block of Nabarangpur district on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Damu Majhi from Pokhanaguda under Maidalpur police station. The injured person is Surendra Nayak from the same village.
According to sources, Damu and Surendra had gone to see the ongoing Bali Yatra in Charamula village. While returning to Maidalpur from there, their bike collided with the bridge railing. Damu died on the spot. Locals rescued the seriously injured Surendra and admitted him to Papadahandi Health Center. Due to his critical condition, he was later shifted to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Maidalpur police station IIC Bipin Kumar Kuldeep and ASI Kamal Lochan arrived at the scene and seized the body. A case has been registered under case no. 38/25, and investigation is ongoing.
