Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for the next five days, predicting thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and heavy to very heavy rainfall in some parts of Odisha.
A yellow warning has been issued for 12 districts for the next 24 hours due to the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, wind, and heavy rain. These districts are:
Mayurbhanj
Keonjhar
Sundargarh
Kendrapara
Jagatsinghpur
Cuttack
Angul
Subarnapur
Kandhamal
Kalahandi
Gajapati
Rayagada
Additionally, 14 more districts have been placed under yellow warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and winds. During this period, wind speeds may reach 30–40 km/h in some areas.
For tomorrow (June 25), an orange warning has been issued for three districts—Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Balasore—due to the likelihood of severe to very severe rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and wind.
Furthermore, nine districts are under yellow warning for thunderstorms, lightning, wind, and heavy rain, and seven other districts are also under yellow warning specifically for thunderstorms, lightning, and wind.
