Baipariguda: There is chaos and confusion among beneficiaries trying to add new names to their ration cards. In light of this, villagers have submitted a memorandum to the Supply Department, demanding that camps be organized at the panchayat level.
The villagers handed over the memorandum to the Supply Department officer at the Baipariguda Block Office premises. According to the memorandum, people from 20 panchayats under the block are arriving to get new names added to their ration cards.
From young children to elderly men and women, people have been standing in queues for hours, and even chaotic and crowded scenes have emerged. Such scenes were witnessed at the block office, where people from far-off places like Tentuligumma (80 km away) and remote hilly areas like Nadinala (40 km away) have been arriving, only to face confusion and hardship.
Villagers from all 20 panchayats have come together, crowding around the Supply Inspector, but officials are unable to manage the crowd effectively.
Due to this situation, the villagers are demanding panchayat-level camps to address ration card-related issues and provide relief to the eligible beneficiaries.
