Vande Bharat Express on the Srinagar Route Expanded from 8 to 20 Coaches to Meet Rising Passenger Demand and Enhance Travel Capacity

Srinagar, May 08:  The Vande Bharat Express operating in Srinagar has been expanded from 8 coaches to 20 coaches due to increasing passenger demand. More than 5.5 lakh passengers have already travelled on these trains.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the Vande Bharat service in Jammu and Kashmir achieved nearly 100% occupancy from the very first day of operation, reflecting the strong acceptance and enthusiasm among the public.
He also highlighted that the trains provide passengers with a culturally rich travel experience by serving regional cuisines, including Dogri and Kashmiri dishes, which has been especially appreciated by pilgrims and tourists.
The Railway Minister further informed that the Vande Bharat trains designed for Jammu and Kashmir are specially engineered to operate in extreme weather conditions, including temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius. These trains are equipped with advanced operating systems and electronics suitable for high-altitude and cold-climate regions.
