Two More Days of Scorching Heat; Kalbaishakhi May Bring Relief from 27th

Bhubaneswar: The people of Odisha are reeling under unbearable heat and humidity. In western and interior parts of the state, it feels as if fire is pouring down from the sky. The Meteorological Department has informed that such extreme heat conditions will continue for another two days. However, from the 27th onwards, there is a possibility of Kalbaishakhi (summer thunderstorms) in many places, which may bring some relief from the heat.

After the Kalbaishakhi, the first week of May is again expected to bring severe heat and dry conditions. An orange warning has been issued for intense heatwave conditions in Boudh, Balangir, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, and Sonepur. Similarly, a yellow warning is in effect for Angul, Nuapada, Kalahandi, and Deogarh.

People in Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati will continue to experience intense heat and discomfort.

On Saturday, i.e., the 26th, heatwave conditions will persist in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Balangir, Boudh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Deogarh, Angul, Nuapada, and Kalahandi. Additionally, hot and humid weather will prevail in Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, and Dhenkanal.
