Training Camp Held to Promote Organic Fertilizer Model

Umarkote: A training and demonstration program on the Odisha Agriculture Department’s advanced organic fertilizer model was organized in Bada Kumari village under the Umarkote block of Nabarangpur district. Dr. Upendra Kumar is the chief researcher of this project. Highlighting the harmful effects of chemical fertilizers, the Odisha government has emphasized the promotion of organic fertilizers.

The program was coordinated by senior scientists Dr. Upendra Kumar and Dr. Biswajit Mandal, who shared their insights. They demonstrated how using decomposers can help produce high-quality organic fertilizer from crop residues like paddy straw while reducing costs.

Senior scientist and Nabarangpur district head Dr. Shashanka Lenka was also present at the event. He elaborated on the use of organic fertilizers in different types of farming in front of the farmers.

Other project team members and employees also contributed to the program’s success. More than 100 farmers, including women farmers, actively participated in the event. Farmers from Maa Pendani Krushi Utpadak Company Limited, Umarkote, and Maa Mauli Ma Maka Utpadak Company Limited, Jharigaon, attended the training session.
