Dashapalla: After attending a wedding feast with their families, three minors tragically drowned. The incident occurred in Godibida village under Similisahi Panchayat of Dashapalla Block. Umakanti Nayak (12), son of Bijan Nayak from Khalamada village; Ritesh Pradhan (11), son of Dilip Pradhan from Godibida village; and Shuka Kholar (10), son of Kalu Kholar, had come to Godibida village for the wedding feast. Due to the intense heat, they went to a nearby pond together to bathe and cool off.
While bathing and playing, it is suspected that they slipped into the deeper parts of the pond and could not swim back to safety. When they did not return for a long time, their family members started searching for them and found their slippers near the pond. On searching the pond, they found the bodies. They were immediately taken to Dashapalla hospital in an ambulance, but doctors declared them dead on arrival. Post-mortem examinations were conducted, and the bodies were handed over to their families. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and have started an investigation.
