Baipariguda, Aug 5 [UDN}: Thousands of devotees thronged the famous Shaivite shrine of Gupteswar in Odisha’s Koraput district on Monday to mark the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan, one of the most auspicious occasions for the worship of Lord Shiva.
From the early hours of the morning, the temple premises witnessed a steady influx of worshippers. Devotees patiently waited in well-organized queues for darshan and offered jalabhishek (holy water), bel leaves, flowers, and prayers to Lord Gupteswar, seeking divine blessings.
The entire shrine reverberated with a deeply devotional atmosphere as devotees observed the sacred Shravan Monday rituals with great faith and enthusiasm.
In view of the large gathering, the district administration implemented extensive security and crowd-management measures. Police personnel were deployed across the temple premises to ensure smooth darshan, regulate the movement of pilgrims, manage traffic, and maintain law and order.
The day-long religious observances concluded peacefully, with devotees completing their worship in an orderly manner while the shrine maintained a serene and spiritually uplifting environment throughout the celebrations.
