Bhubaneswar,  July 9 [UDN}:  The Revenue and Disaster Management Minister reviewed the rising water level situation of the Baitarani River and assessed the flood preparedness measures in the affected areas. He directed officials to remain on high alert, closely monitor the river’s flow, and ensure timely assistance to vulnerable communities.
The Minister also instructed district authorities to immediately assess the damage caused to agricultural lands due to continuous heavy rainfall. He emphasized that compensation should be provided to affected farmers within 24 hours of completing the damage assessment to ensure swift relief and support.
He further stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all concerned departments to minimize the impact of floods and protect lives and livelihoods. The administration has been asked to maintain round-the-clock vigilance and take prompt action wherever necessary.
