Bhubaneswar, July 9 [UDN}: The first floodwater of the season will be released from Hirakud Dam today at 11:00 AM. The water level in the reservoir currently stands at 611.23 feet.
The release of water is being carried out as a precautionary measure to maintain the reservoir’s safety level.
Authorities have advised people living near the downstream areas to remain alert and follow official instructions.
The administration is closely monitoring the river flow and overall flood situation.
