Jharigaon, June 5:  The Bakada Bedha Season 3 Night Cricket Tournament 2026 concluded with great enthusiasm at the cricket ground of Bakada Bedha New High School, located at the headquarters of Bakada Bedha Panchayat in Jharigaon Block of Nabarangpur district.

District Planning Board Chairman and Jharigaon MLA Gouri Shankar Majhi and MLA Narasingha Bhatra attended the closing ceremony as chief guests. They presented the winning team, AAHAN Cricket Team Turunji, with a trophy and a cash prize of ₹40,000. The runners-up team, DARGER 11 Ben Cricket Team, was also awarded a trophy along with a cash prize of ₹25,000.
Upon the arrival of the chief guests, they were warmly welcomed with traditional dance and music by Bakada Bedha Cricket Committee President Pitambar Majhi and other tournament organizers.

Among the other guests present were Dhoda Mandal President Bhujabal Gouda and several other dignitaries.

The program began with the guests lighting a ceremonial lamp and offering floral tributes before the photograph of Lord Jagannath.
The tournament started on May 22 and the final match was held on May 29. A total of 20 teams participated in the tournament. The final match was played between DARGER 11 Ben and AAHAN 11 Ben.

In his speech, Gouri Shankar Majhi said that sports help strengthen brotherhood and unity among people. Villagers also requested him to facilitate the construction of a stadium for local players.
The guests congratulated the organizers and volunteers — including Shibaram Bhatra, Bhojan Kalar, Jugasai Kalar, Prabhakar Gauntia, Soraj Sahu, Alok Gouda, Jogeswar Kalar, Sahadev Panka, and Sajit Khan — for their tireless efforts in successfully conducting the week-long tournament.
