Bhubaneswar: Everyone is distressed due to the extreme heat and unbearable temperatures. Considering the severe heatwave conditions, the government has suspended academic activities in all technical universities, colleges, polytechnics, and ITIs across the state. The government has announced holidays for all technical educational institutions from the 23rd until further notice. In this context, on the 23rd, Additional Secretary Sukanta Kumar Pradhan sent letters to the Vice-Chancellors of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR), Bhubaneswar, and VSSUT, Burla. Similarly, letters were sent to the Directors of DTET, Cuttack; IGIT, Sarang; BPFTIO, Cuttack; PMEC, Berhampur; Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar; Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi; IMIT, Cuttack; and CIEM, Bhubaneswar.It was clearly mentioned in the letters that students who wish to continue staying in hostels during this period will be allowed to do so.
