Malkangiri : On the occasion of the 2nd Annual State-Level “Swankhetra Utsav 2025” organized by Sansad, Bhadrak, and Matira Basna Sahitya Odisha, the Coordinator of the Somnathpur Regional Resource Centre, Nature Friend Poet Yachindra Swain from Malkangiri district, was honoured with the “Odia Literature Protection Emperor” award.
Dedicated to the promotion of Odia literature, Poet Yachindra Swain has significantly contributed through his work in Malkangiri district. He is also actively involved as the Founder-President of Gurupriya Literature and Culture Parishad, Balimela, and works as Founder and Chief Editor of Sahitya Sansad Godishula, Nilagiri, Balasore.
As part of state-level initiatives like the Children’s Festival 2025, he has been uniting poets and literary figures from various districts to promote the Odia language, support its growth, and encourage new literary creations. This includes organizing workshops, competitions, poetry gatherings, children’s festivals, youth festivals, and publishing books and magazines.
The award has been jointly dedicated to both Malkangiri and Balasore districts. Under his editorship, publications like Byasa Jati, the children’s magazine Byasa Kalika, and this year’s notable release Swabhimana Anchalara Swara Guru Priya have gained wide recognition.
This honour was announced with appreciation for his continued contributions to Odia language and literature.
