‘Sabari Bhavan’ Inaugurated by Sabari Cultural Council

Bhubaneswar:  In a special ceremony organized by the Sabari Cultural Council at IRC Village, Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the ‘Sabari Cultural Bhavan’, dedicated to the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri. On this occasion, he also announced a grant of Rs2 crore for the development of this short-stay facility.

The Chief Minister stated that all necessary infrastructure and facilities would be provided at Sabari Bhavan. He emphasized that Sabari Bhavan is not just a shelter, but a platform for the emergence of tribal youth and leadership. It will serve as a short-term residence and also function as a conference center, training camp, art exhibition venue, and a research center.

Additionally, a Tribal Culture and Heritage Bhavan and a Tribal Language Institute are also being established in Bhubaneswar. The state has made a record provision of ₹68,881 crore specifically for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, which constitutes about 40% of the state’s population. This amount is separate from regular welfare schemes and will be spent exclusively for their upliftment.

The Chief Minister expressed hope that Odisha’s tribal population, making up 24Percent of the state’s population, will play a key role in building a prosperous Odisha.
