Mahanga: On the auspicious occasion of Shri Ram Navami, a festive atmosphere prevailed at the Radhakanta Temple premises in Chaudhury Sahi of Jhajeswarpur village under Mahanga Block. A sacred recitation of the Ramcharitmanas, written by Saint Tulsidas, was organized here.

The Ramcharitmanas is considered a priceless and sacred scripture in Hinduism. Its emotional depth and spiritual resonance have led to its translation into many regional languages, deeply influencing devotees across communities. As in previous years, this year too, a 9-day long recitation event is being held at the temple premises of Radhakanta Ji, beginning from Ram Navami and continuing till Purnima (full moon).

This annual tradition has been ongoing since ancient times at this sacred site. Devotees believe that no one ever returns empty-handed from the sanctum of Lord Raghunath here. A large number of devotees gather to listen to the Manas recitation, which is known for its unique spiritual ambiance.

During the nine-day event, villagers arrange for prasad (holy food offering) to be served to all attending devotees daily. On the final day—Purnima—a special Dasa Yatra (procession) is conducted in a grand manner.

Santosh Kumar Praharaj led the organization of the event, with the active support of other villagers including Debiprasad Prakaraj, Gokulananda Praharaj, Nandakishore Mohapatra, Pabitra Mohan Praharaj, Shrinibas, and Nrusingha Charan Praharaj.
