Pushpalata’s Lifesaving Journey: Over 5,000 Patients Benefited from Her Blood Donations

Choudwar  Whether it’s Cuttack SCB Medical College or any private hospital, patients in need of blood never return disappointed if they contact Pushpalata Mahanty of Choudwar’s Ward No. 10.

So far, she has arranged blood donations for over 5,000 patients. Whether the request comes from Choudwar or any other part of Odisha, she ensures that the required blood reaches the patient within an hour. To date, she has never turned anyone away. She also personally donates blood three times a year at various blood donation camps.

Whenever a blood donation camp is organized in Choudwar, Pushpalata actively brings donors to the venue. Because of her relentless efforts, the people of Choudwar lovingly call her “Rakta Rani” (Blood Queen) Pushpalata.

However, her social service extends beyond blood donation. She also cares for 20 elderly residents at the Swapnamahal Old Age Home in Choudwar. Every day, she spends time at the shelter, listening to their joys and sorrows while providing assistance.

Pushpalata was previously a beauty parlor owner, but she also collected and donated hair to cancer patients for making wigs. In addition, she actively helps elderly individuals obtain their old-age pension by collecting their documents and submitting them to the municipal office.

According to Pushpalata, helping people in distress gives her immense personal satisfaction. With her dedication to social service, she has become a respected and admired figure in Choudwar.
