Nabarangpur: At Sai Kalyan Mandap in Nabarangpur, a live broadcast of the distribution of the second installment of financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana by Hon’ble Chief Minister was held at 11:00 AM.
The event was graced by Nityananda Gond, Minister of School and Mass Education, as the chief guest, who inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp. Among the distinguished guests present were Gauri Shankar Majhi, MLA of Nabarangpur; Dr. Subhankar Mahapatra, District Collector; Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Chief Development Officer; and Kunj Bihari Das.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Minister highlighted the significant role of women in the social and economic development of the country. He also stated that Odisha has witnessed the largest women empowerment program in its history and that the financial aid from the second installment of Subhadra Yojana will help women become self-reliant and financially independent.
MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi praised the initiative and stated that the Subhadra Yojana program in Brahmapur, where the Chief Minister distributed the second installment, marks the beginning of a new era for women’s empowerment. He thanked all administrative officers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, SHG members, Mo Seva Kendra staff, Jan Seva Kendra staff, and support staff for their efforts in implementing the program successfully in the district.
It is noteworthy that today, during the state-level Subhadra Yojana event in Ambapua, Brahmapur, over 1 crore women beneficiaries across Odisha received a direct bank transfer (DBT) of ₹5000 crore into their bank accounts. In Nabarangpur district, 2,85,952 women beneficiaries from 10 blocks and 2 municipalities received the second installment of ₹5,000 each in their accounts today.
The event witnessed the participation of Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, SHG members, departmental officers, media representatives, and several women beneficiaries from different blocks of the district.
