Odisha Government Issues New Guidelines to Cut Petrol and Diesel Expenses Following Directions from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi

Bhubaneswar, May 23:  Government issues guidelines to reduce petrol and diesel expenses.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi directed the Chief Secretary regarding the move.

Instructions issued to reduce fuel usage across government departments.

The Chief Minister released an 8-point directive for the administration.

8-Point Guidelines

  1. Meetings, reviews, training sessions, and workshops will be conducted in virtual mode.
  2. Purchase of new two-wheelers and four-wheelers must be electric vehicles (EVs).
  3. Senior officials provided with government vehicles will follow carpooling.
  4. The Finance Department will issue guidelines for the use of government vehicles.
  5. Officers and employees traveling to distant places should use buses or trains.
  6. Officials’ personal electric vehicles may be used for government work.
  7. Electric bus services will be arranged for the commute of government employees.
  8. Departments have been instructed to reduce petrol and diesel consumption by at least 10%.
