Bhubaneswar, July 6 (UDN): The rollout of E20 petrol has triggered concerns among fuel dealers in Odisha, with the Odisha Petroleum Dealers’ Association urging the Centre to reconsider its implementation.
Dealers claimed that the higher ethanol blend is causing mechanical issues in vehicles that are not designed to run on E20 fuel. They said this has led to complaints from customers, with petrol pump operators often facing the backlash despite having no control over the fuel supplied.
The association has appealed to the Central Government to review the rollout strategy and ensure that adequate safeguards are in place before expanding the use of E20 fuel. It also stressed the need for greater public awareness and a phased transition to minimise inconvenience for vehicle owners.
