Bhubaneswar, July 6 (UDN): Odisha has strengthened its position as an emerging green energy hub following a landmark international agreement between India’s ACME Green Molecules Business and Japan’s Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company (MGC).
Under the long-term deal, valued at approximately USD 1 billion, ACME will supply clean energy-based molecules to MGC, marking a major step forward in global collaboration on sustainable fuels.
The agreement underscores growing international confidence in India’s renewable energy sector and highlights Odisha’s rising importance as a destination for green hydrogen and low-carbon fuel investments.
Industry experts believe the partnership will accelerate investment inflows, support the development of clean energy infrastructure, and generate new industrial and employment opportunities within the state.
The collaboration is also seen as a significant milestone in India–Japan energy cooperation, reflecting shared commitments toward achieving global decarbonisation goals and expanding the use of sustainable energy solutions.
Officials noted that such investments align with Odisha’s broader vision of becoming a leading hub for green hydrogen, ammonia, and other next-generation clean fuels.
