Bhubaneswar, Sept. 8 (UDN): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to embark on a five-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Tuesday as part of the state government’s efforts to attract major investments and expand its engagement with international business leaders.
Majhi will travel to New Delhi before proceeding to Abu Dhabi, where he is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with investors, corporate executives and industry representatives to highlight Odisha’s growing industrial and investment potential.
The visit will cover sectors including petrochemicals, aluminium, recycling and other emerging areas, with the government seeking to build new business partnerships and attract fresh capital to the state.
CM’s meetings with UAE business leaders
On September 9, Majhi is scheduled to meet senior representatives of IHC, the Indian Business and Professional Group and a prominent petrochemical company.
During his Dubai engagement on the same day, the Chief Minister will inaugurate an exhibition showcasing products from Odisha districts under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.
The exhibition is expected to provide a platform for promoting Odisha’s traditional and locally manufactured products among international buyers and the wider business community.
Talks on economy, aluminium and recycling
The Chief Minister’s programme on September 10 includes a meeting with UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri.
Majhi is also scheduled to interact with the leadership of the Indian Business and Professional Council and Emirates Global Aluminium.
A round-table discussion with representatives of the Middle East Recycling Association will also form part of the day’s engagements, with potential cooperation in the recycling sector likely to be among the areas of discussion.
Odisha Investors’ Meet in Dubai
A key component of the tour will be the Odisha Investors’ Meet in Dubai on September 11.
The event will bring the Chief Minister face-to-face with entrepreneurs, investors and business representatives from India and abroad. Majhi is expected to present Odisha as an attractive destination for investment and outline opportunities available across multiple sectors.
The government hopes the investor outreach will translate into new business partnerships, industrial projects and employment opportunities in Odisha.
CM to meet Odia diaspora
Besides his official and business engagements, Majhi will interact with members of the Odia diaspora in the UAE.
The interaction is expected to provide an opportunity for the state government to strengthen its relationship with the overseas Odia community and seek its participation in Odisha’s economic and development journey.
Push to position Odisha as investment hub
The UAE visit is part of the Odisha government’s broader efforts to project the state as a competitive destination for domestic and international investment.
Majhi has previously undertaken investor outreach in countries including Singapore, holding discussions with global business leaders and potential investors.
With the UAE tour, the government is looking to deepen its international investment outreach and create a stronger pipeline of projects aimed at boosting industrialisation, economic growth and job creation in Odisha.
