Bhubaneswar:April 17: The transfer process for primary teachers has officially begun in Odisha. As per the notification, teachers willing to apply for transfers can submit their applications online from April 15 to April 30.
Key Highlights:
Both intra-district and inter-district transfers will be carried out.
The entire process will be completed by July 18.
Teachers from schools with surplus staff will be transferred to schools facing shortages.
Important Timeline:
April 15–20: Profile updates by Block Education Officers (BEO) / District Education Officers (DEO) on the UAS portal
By May 10: Verification of applications by BEO and forwarding to DEO
By May 20: Inter-district applications sent to the Directorate of Primary Education
May 25–26: Medical board verification for health-based transfer requests
June 6: Medical reports submission
June 10–11: Uploading of medical certificates
June 17–19: Choice locking by applicants
June 29–July 4: Meetings of district and state-level transfer committees
July 8–10: Issuance of transfer orders
By July 18: Teachers to join at their new place of posting
Additionally, data on surplus and shortage of teachers across schools will be compiled, and transfers will be executed accordingly to ensure balanced staffing.
This move aims to improve the distribution of teachers and strengthen the quality of primary education across the state.
